Pinny's impressive performance

I had a wonderful experience participating in the Cheboygan High School musical, Cinderella. My host sister, Izzy, was also in it. She was "Joy," one of the two stepsisters. I was the fairy godmother, and I loved my role. I think I had good facial expressions and could move well on stage.

We started rehearsals in January. I enjoyed every rehearsal, but it was late at night, so I was a little exhausted. I was glad I got the chance to do something I love, because it was my third high school musical that I was in. I was so nervous and excited, because it was the first time I performed a play in English in front of an American audience. I was a little scared about my pronunciation and tone for my dialogues, but I spent a lot of time going through the dialogues and practicing the pronunciation of the words. Also, all the actors were very nice and friendly. They all supported me and believed I will do well. "You are the best fairy godmother ever," said fellow actor Parson. After hearing that sentence from him, I was so delighted that I can’t even describe it.

We had four days of performances. Many people came to support us, even my friends. I did not expect them to come, but they came as a surprise. My parents here, my host mother and host father, came to see me all four days, which made me very happy. Although my real parents couldn’t watch me, I had them here by my side as my parents.

In summary, I can say that this is a wonderful time for me. I am glad I got to perform with Izzy, because it was her last year of high school. Thank you for all the opportunities, experiences, and happiness you all have for me. I have appreciated and loved you all so much.

A Musical Addition to a Wonderful Year

Pinny has been a wonderful addition to our family. She learned how to bowl. She did great playing the fairy godmother in the Cheboygan High School Musical Cinderella. Pinny is so funny; she brings a smile to everyone’s face with her humor. She has been a fantastic daughter and sister. We have been blessed having her as our exchange student. She is and always will be our family.
