Hard work pays off for German

Hello! This year has been an incredible year for my family, as we hosted not just one student for the first time but two! As the year comes to a close (all too soon), I wanted to share an incredible accomplishment of our exchange daughter, Emely!

This year, Emely got to compete in tennis, her favorite sport! She breezed through district and regionals and earned a ticket to the state 1A tournament. After winning her first match 6-2, 6-1, she went on to the semi-finals. She won that round 6-0, 6-0, which landed her in the championship against the two-time state winner!

Emely ended her U.S. tennis experience as the state 1A champion after beating her opponent 6-3, 6-2, and made school history as the first female tennis player to win state in singles! We are beyond proud of the hard work and dedication she displayed.
