This time of year can represent a lull of sorts. Indeed, during the post-holiday dog days of winter, it's easy to wonder whether the weather will ever improve.
That said, if you're an exchange student who's embracing every new opportunity that comes your way, the winter is also full of possibilities. Just ask the students featured in this issue. They're getting involved in DECA and bowling, forensics and cheerleading, downhill, Nordic, and much, much more!
Read all about it in this throwback-style issue, starting with two reports from Fatima (YES, Pakistan), who concisely sums up the spirit of the PAX exchange students who make us so proud.

P.S. Don't miss the almost-unbelievable story of the Fleming family's trip to Spain on page four.
Balboa Park, San Diego's 1,200-acre urban cultural playground, represents just one of many recent adventures for Abuali (FLEX, Tajikistan). Check them all out in a special page six photo essay.
