The Orientation Edition

Welcome to the 2018/19 program year! We can't wait for you to meet the first arrivals of the new class—as we did at our first orientation last week. In this special edition of PAX Press, we share all of the excitement surrounding the new year as experienced by our first group of students from Brazil, China, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Somaliland, Spain, and Thailand.

Get to know the newbies through quotes, interviews, games—there are even two articles by PAX alumnae who attended this same PAX New York City/Adelphi University orientation in 2013! Happy reading/watching!

Madleen's NYC Vlog

Hello! This video is giving you some impressions of our New York orientation with PAX. I really loved it, and I'm thankful that I have had the chance to get to know so many nice people from all over the world in beautiful New York! Have a nice day—hope you like it!

—Madleen (Germany), hosted by the Hollenshead family (TX)

This or That?

It's simple enough. Faced with two choices, which do you prefer?

Tired and jetlagged—but most importantly excited—Mauricio from Mexico gives it a try.

Why? How? What?

Having just arrived in the U.S. at PAX arrival orientation (literally minutes before her interview), Sabela from Spain answers three questions:

1) Why did you want to become an exchange student?

2) How do you feel now that you have finally arrived?

3) What are you looking forward to doing first?
