Exchange student from Mexico poses with Washington host family outside of professional ice hockey game

Mexican catches family's Thunderbird fever

Hockey, hockey, hockey! Living in the state of Washington, we love NHL Kraken hockey, but our favorite team is the Seattle Thunderbirds! You will find our family attending several games per month cheering our players and waving to the jumbo screen.

As we battle it out in the playoffs, our cheering gets louder and louder. Dara, our exchange student from Mexico, has become quite the fan. She has been to seven games this year so far. At the most recent game, she was asked to be featured on the big screen in a puck race. She was joined by her best friend Lina, also a PAX student (South Korea) and our next-door neighbor.

It was such a fun and exciting moment for them as neither of them had attended a hockey game before coming to America. Go T-Birds!
