Open Heart & Open Mind
Exchange student from Ecuador dressed up like Scooby Doo with Pennsylvania friends

Rewarding experiences for Ecuadorian in Pennsylvania

This month, I did a lot of new things. I volunteered to clean up around town. We cleaned leaves from the streets and helped people clean their businesses. It was fun, because I spent time with my friends and helped people at the same time.

For Halloween, I carved pumpkins with my host family, and we decorated the house. On the 31st, we decided to dress up as Scooby Doo movie characters, and we had a fun time.

On November 3rd, I went with my anatomy class to an open-heart surgery in Pittsburgh. It was a wonderful and unique experience since I am very interested in medicine. After the surgery I went to eat with my friends.

I am participating in a school musical. We are presenting Anastasia and the presentation is in a week and a half. It is very fun to spend time with my classmates and practices, although they are tiring, are fun.
