Matteo and Tom in Texas

PAX students stand out at Lone Star high school
Waller High School (WHS) in Texas currently has two exceptional PAX students in attendance. Tom (Germany) is a full year student who has excelled not only in academics but also athletically. Tom earned a spot on the varsity football team and proved his abilities as a linebacker on defense. His performance on the field earned him the coveted varsity letterman jacket.
Matteo (Italy) arrived in January. His interest in computers and engineering lead him to choose Robotics as an elective. He is one of only three students at WHS to earn the FANUC Robotics-Operator 1 certificate.
In addition to scholastic activities, both Tom and Matteo are members of Scout Troop 1114 in Magnolia, Texas. In February, both boys earned the Winter Camper patch (camping three days and two nights in temps below 34ºF) while working toward the Wilderness Survival merit badge. In conjunction with Tom’s host brother Ed, who is an Eagle Scout, they constructed a debris shelter and slept in it overnight—the night before Texas’ winter storm blanketed the region in snow, ice, and abnormally low temperatures!
