Future American Farmer?

More to the FFA than the name implies
I have lived here for almost three months, and it’s like a roller coaster. In November, I joined the Future Farmers of America (FFA) without any clue what it was. Fast forward to the first big opportunity: a Foundations in Reaching Excellence (FIRE) Conference.
I initially thought that since my FFA chapter was paying the admission cost, why not give it a shot? I wouldn’t have guessed that it would be so very beneficial to me.
The FIRE Conference is held, because they want FFA members to learn the importance and impact of character, personal values, life choices, and how we will impact future success. I learned how to extend my influence. It also gave me ideas on how to bring my knowledge back and apply it in my country.
My three days at the Indiana FFA Leadership Center were so fun (and cold…it was located in the woods, and the temperature at that time was really low). But, I got an unforgettable experience that I did not expect before—making new friends and meeting many amazing people within my new FFA family.
Oh yeah, and now I know what FFA is.
