An Iowa Thanksgiving to Remember

Japan, meet green bean casserole
We had a Thanksgiving party at our house. We don't have Thanksgiving in Japan, so it was my first time! Usually, 30 people come to the house every year, but my family couldn't invite many people because of COVID, so it was a small Thanksgiving party. We ate traditional food such as turkey, green bean casserole, pecan pie, and mashed potatoes. I loved all of the dishes!
I've heard that Thanksgiving Day is to celebrate gratitude and give thanks. I would like to say thank you to my family and my host family!
The next day, I went to a tree farm with my family. It was also my first time to pick out a tree, because most people in Japan use fake trees. We looked for the best tree for one hour and finally, we found a beautiful tree! My brother Myles cut the tree. And then, we decorated the tree with a lot of ornaments. I had amazing experiences and fun this holiday. I'm really looking forward to Christmas!
