Ambassador Through Basketball

Host mom proud of German son
I wanted to share the feedback our student Henrik “Julian” received from his basketball coach at the conclusion of the season. Julian had never played basketball before. He tried out and was placed on the JV2 team.
The coach presented Julian with a medal and a pin from his personal collection. After the other players left practice, I often observed Julian staying behind to make sure the coach had help packing up the equipment before leaving.

Coach Nash provided each player with a progress report along with tips to improve his game. He left these remarks for Julian:
"Julian, it was a pleasure having you on my team this year. You were respected by your teammates, and your basketball skills improved greatly. But most importantly as an exchange student, you were a great ambassador for your country, school, and your family. Always courteous, always worked hard, a good listener, and always a gentleman. As far as basketball goes, you may be the next Detlef Schrempf or Dirk Nowitzki!"
We are proud of the good impression Julian is leaving here in Washington.
