A Whirlwind in Washington
Indonesian exchange student poses in front of pickup truck at fall harvest festival

Topped off with a fall harvest festival

We are the Garrison family, living in Washington. Our exchange student is Candyle (Candy) from Indonesia. We have had several adventures since her arrival!

We went boating on the last warm day of summer and took another exchange student, Mara, from Mozambique. The river is called Snake River and the girls were worried that there were snakes, so we had to explain with maps that it's named for the winding shape of the river. We saw petroglyphs from the Nez Perce tribe above Ice Harbor Dam.

We attended a Western Hockey League game, cheering on the Tri-City Americans. Candy tried an American vegan hotdog. We went to our town's annual car show where they had a huge American flag. And we went to the fall harvest festival to celebrate Candy’s first experience with autumn.

We have been enjoying our time together and exchanging our cultures.
